Women enter the workforce at nearly the same rate as men. Yet by the time C-suite leadership opportunities emerge, that representation is cut in half. ALERT!! New data from LinkedIn's Economic Graph in the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report shows women hold 46% of entry-level roles across 57 economies, but only 23% of C-suite positions. After a decade of limited gains, progress in women’s leadership has now stalled for four consecutive years. And it's not only showing up in leadership pipelines. LinkedIn members identifying as founders have more than tripled since 2022, yet women’s share remains stuck at just 28%, and those female founders are less likely to have AI skills than their male counterparts. To me, this challenge isn’t about a lack of ambition or talent. It's a signal that too many of the systems that shape who advances, who leads, and who gets to build companies are broken. WE MUST FIX THIS!!! The good news? We know what DOES work. Focusing on coaching and skills development, sponsoring high-performing women, and ensuring accountability exists at senior levels is critical to bringing more women into the equation.
